We are delighted with our new home – it is even more than we imagined it would be. After years of planning our dream home and talking to many builders, we decided on Main Street. It was the perfect choice! We’ve received so many compliments from friends and family but most importantly, we love our home and enjoy it every day.

In the early days of planning our home, we struggled finding a builder that shared our vision. Fortunately, we crossed paths with Mark. What a relief it was to work with someone who had a positive outlook right from the start. Mark took our plans and found small changes that made a big difference – details we wouldn’t have thought about. He put so much care into planning our home and it paid off. He had great design ideas, was an excellent communicator, approachable, patient, dedicated and he completed the build as contracted.

The building process was an enjoyable experience, and we would recommend Main Street to anyone.

We learned about Mark Sova and Main Street Builders from a friend who had recently had Main Street build his home. 

Our situation was unique. We had to tear down the current family home with sentimental value, the lot had some specific limitations, and we had clear ideas of our build, but no plans drawn and we were in a bit of a time crunch.

From the beginning, Mark was clear, honest and respectful, and demonstrated understanding of our situation. He directed us to a talented architect, helped negotiate city codes and regulations (including a variance process), introduced us to many partner vendors so we could select flooring, lighting, cabinetry, appliances and more. He accompanied us through all of it. Mark was and still is available, communicative and helpful.

Most importantly, we cannot speak highly enough of Mark’s integrity. It is rare. It is palpable each time you shake his hand and it stands despite the stress and strains of home building. Main Street Builders took our raw, unharnessed ideas and helped us mold and shape them into something uniquely ours. We are so pleased with our beautiful home.

Main Street Builders will always hold a special place in my family’s heart. Mark and Tom built a home for my mom in 2013; we started the process after my dad died from Alzheimer’s.

From day one, Mark could not have been more kind to my mom. He listened to all of her thoughts and learned about her lifestyle, subsequently providing really great suggestions to create a home that was perfectly tailored for her. From her special gardening sink and backup wine fridge near the mudroom, to her zero-threshold shower, heated tile floor, built-in tall china buffet and wall-mounted ironing board, Mark made every single wish of my mom’s come true, and all within budget.

The quality of construction Main Street delivered is beyond a perfect 10. Even when the wind is howling across the fields in Lake Elmo, my mom’s house is snug as a bug. There are no phantom breezes… no window whistles. Her house is warm, cozy and solid as a rock. Truly, my mom tells me regularly how grateful she is for the home Mark created for her… our family is grateful, too! We know she is safe and secure in a home with carefully considered features and beautifully executed details. She loves entertaining friends and family in her Main Street home. We highly recommend Main Street!

Very happy with our new home in St. Paul build by Main Street Builders! We have built 2 other homes previous but this was by far the easiest and smoothest build of them all. Many issues come up when starting large projects like this and Mark handled them all with speed and professionalism. Never having built in St. Paul before there was a lot to learn and problems that needed to be solved with this city and their strict rule book. Many issues were handled by Mark (without him even telling us), thus alleviating much of the stress that comes during a build.

We love our home and if home build number four were to happen we would for sure be partnered with Main Street and Mark Sova again!
